Char Dham Yatra

10 Days & 9 Nights

Yatra Overview

The Chardham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. This spiritual journey takes devotees through stunning Himalayan landscapes, with some sections requiring treks through rugged terrain. While Yamunotri and Kedarnath demand challenging hikes, Gangotri and Badrinath are more accessible by road.

The 6 km trek to Yamunotri from Janki Chatti winds through forests and streams, leading to the revered temple of Goddess Yamuna. At Gangotri, many pilgrims venture on an 18 km trek to Gomukh Glacier, the sacred source of the Ganges. Kedarnath, the toughest leg, involves a 16 km uphill trek from Gaurikund, testing endurance but rewarding devotees with breathtaking views and deep spiritual fulfillment. In contrast, Badrinath is easily reachable by road, though short hikes to Charan Paduka or Neelkanth Peak offer stunning views.

The best time for the yatra is May to June and September to October, avoiding the monsoon risks. Proper preparation—layered clothing, good footwear, and hydration—is essential. More than just a pilgrimage, this journey is about embracing faith, nature, and the serenity of the mountains.
